Pioneering in the Blog Renaissance
Blogs
define a new communication vehicle as profound as the Internet itself.
Unlike most other media, it is the purview of amateurs—much to
its detriment. 80% are of terrible quality and not worth reading. They
are indulgent, verbose, and tedious. Consequently, only 10% of blogs
created are read.
Oddly, most professional communicators don’t blog. They don’t
care for the causal first person voice. Yet no one can deny the power
and use of the blogosphere! With millions registered, they have tremendous
potential to influence.
As a professional graphic designer, I have joined the blogosphere to
push into the realm of identify parameters and techniques. It is like
a potter discovering that clay, when placed on a wheel, can be formed
into a vase!
The proliferation of blogs beg for revealing creative options. Incorporating
the public quality versus private, expertise versus novice, personal
versus broadcast, and multiple linear paths, all make this playing field
a new wilderness! Creativity has just scratched the surface!
In my blog, Wisdom
of Work, I seek to create a personality and offer
a range of content balanced by a focus of concerns.
Readers will gain:
• Lessons from exemplary businesswomen
• Insights into the best business thinkers
• Design ideas for communication
• Essentials graphics everyone needs
• Analysis of publishing media including blogs and PDFs
• Ideas to improve effectiveness of your graphics
• Creative approaches for gifts
• Recommendations and portal for best readings
• Basics for a creative focus.
This new blog reflects a foundation from graphic design and crafts.
It demonstrates my compulsion to collect quotations and try to decipher
wisdom from business experience. And it expresses interactions with
many visionary business thinkers and contributors.
Each blog entry has something practical the reader can use or apply.
And, it is unpredictable what you’ll find every 3 or 4 days.
Please share with readers who care about the quality of design, integration
of graphics, and who practice visual literacy. Through its pages, the
new frontier of blog communication can be explored as it evolves.
