DETAILED BIOGRAPHY OF LIANE SEBASTIAN:

With a degree in fine art lithography, Liane Sebastian has maintained
a blended career of graphic design, publishing, and art. She has worked
in nearly every facet of graphic art, from design to art direction to
illustration, as a free-lancer, firm owner, and corporate executive. She
has won awards for international marketing campaigns, a series of
children's books, corporate identities, and publications. She has authored
many books, including three editions of the now classic Digital Design
Business Practices
. Several of her titles were privately published for the
International Design Conference in Aspen, Herman Miller Corporation,
and Borg-Warner Corporation.

Liane's skills have grown up with the technology and the issues it raises
in running a creative business. Writing about design and digital publishing,
she has had articles in HOW magazine, Publish!, Step-by-Step Publishing,
and Crain's Chicago Business. Her work has been featured in magazines
including Print, Communication Arts, and Crain's Chicago Business.

Starting her career as an apprentice in Chicago, Liane has worked for
clients around the country. She became a co-owner of Synthesis Concepts
in 1983 with partner Michael Waitsman, who passed away in 1995.
During that time, Liane served as the president of the Association for the
Development of Electronic Publishing Technique (ADEPT), which helped
establish desktop publishing in Chicago during the late 80’s and early 90’s.
Liane has spoken at conferences all around the country, such as Seybold,
Graphx, AIGA, PIA, Folio, and CONCEPPTS on topics of creativity, design,
copyright, technology, and design business practices.

Authoring Ways of Wisdom for Women in 2005 (there is an e-book version),
the publisher (along with her book) was destroyed by Hurricane Wilma.
The disaster woke Liane up to admitting her dream of publishing books.
Hence, she started Prosperia Publishing in 2006, with the release of
Support Solutions and Legacy Ladies. In 2007, she introduces Idea Initiators
and Wealth of Wisdom from Workingwomen Writers. The three books are
a trio from workingwomen's body of knowledge.

Liane's design and visual skills developed from the rich Chicago tradition
of the Bauhaus, the University of Chicago, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
With an emphasis towards simplicity, logic, and symbolism, Liane's work
has conceptual twists, communicating visually as well as verbally. Her
writing captures the essence of both the business and the practice of
creativity. Liane's concepts are symbolic and utilize universally under-
stood images. View a few samples from her portfolio! And stay-tuned
to her book releases as Prosperia Publishing grows.
